While the focus was most definitely on the music, the group did take out some time to explore the city and its surroundings. We visited the colonial center of Lima, with its attractive Plaza de Armas. We descended the catacombs of the San Francisco cathedral and toured its convent and gardens. 
We also went shopping for colorful Peruvian souvenirs at the Indian market.
Another excursion took us to the pre-incan ruins of Pachacamac, in the desert just outside the city.
