After a week of hard work in Lima, the group finally made it to Cuzco,
... where one after the other succumbed to the altitude, a nasty flu, and just general fatigue.
The disappointment of not being able to go to Machu Picchu because of two national strikes probably didn't help the situation either.
Nevertheless nobody complained and we just made the best of the situation. We enjoyed walks in one of the most beautiful cities of Latin America and admired its old colonial buildings and colorful markets.

We visited some nearby old Inca ruins, such as Sacsayhuamán, that were almost just as impressive as Machu Picchu.
We learned about indigenous instruments during a live demonstration and we even took some salsa lessons!
